Checking in: Monarch House serviced apartment

Jade Burke heads to Olympia London, for a two-night stay at SITU’s Monarch House

Having never stayed in a serviced apartment before, I didn’t know what to expect as I checked in with the concierge at Monarch House in London Olympia. Already my experience with Situ, the service apartment booking service, has been excellent.

The staff hold your hand throughout the whole process – once I chose the area in London I wanted to stay in a team member called me within an hour to confirm my details and what I was looking for from an apartment. Soon enough I was offered four different spaces to choose from with details specifying how many bathrooms and bedrooms were included and its distance from the stations. This service truly is phenomenal.

As we travel up the lift to the second floor to find apartment 22, I notice how similar the hall way is to a block of flats. We have been given a regular door key to enter the apartment, unlike a key card you get in hotels. Myself and two colleagues are staying here for two nights and we can’t wait to take a look around the place.

Our apartment boasts two double rooms with an en suite each, and a room with two single beds as well as its own toilet in the hall. In addition, there is also a spacious kitchen, lounge and diner, rumpus room, and two balconies. We could have fit the entire PA Life team here for the two nights with all this ample space.

Each of the rooms boast a modern aesthetic, while the kitchen features all the necessary equipment you’d need to create meals throughout your stay. Each bathroom also offers guests a robe, slippers, toiletries and towels to ensure everyone is looked after during their stay. However, if you feel you need anything else, the concierge is available 24 hours a day.

Some refreshments have also been left out in the kitchen, including bread, milk, fruit and other treats for my guests and I to enjoy. I can’t help but think what a fantastic addition this is to the apartment, something you often do not receive in a hotel.

Thanks to its close distance to the Olympia exhibition centre, Monarch House is ideal for those looking to stay close-by during shows, but if it’s a weekend away you’re also after, SITU has plenty of serviced apartments available all across the capital. Plus, with plenty of space to work and free WiFi, corporate clients will be well taken care of here.

So, if you’re seeking a bit of luxury for your next business trip or weekend getaway, put a SITU serviced apartment at the top of your list.
