    PA Life talks to Daniel Whittemore, Sales & Marketing Director at Whilton Mill Karting and Outdoor Activities in Northamptonshire about opening the venue once again for team-building activities – and the demand he’s seeing for bookings…

    Are you already hosting live team-building events?
    Thankfully, Whilton Mill Karting & Outdoor Activities reopened for team-building events on 12th April and we have already hosted several group events.

    What sort of demand are you seeing from corporate bookers?
    Our phone lines have been extremely busy with customers enquiring about, and booking, group events. This has included small groups of colleagues from local businesses wanting to socialise after work to charity events for 300 plus guests who wish to make full use of our 100-acre site for a whole host of outdoor activities.

    Are companies and teams keen to get back together for activities such as karting?
    There’s no doubt companies are keen to get ‘back out’ for team building events. Like myself, I’m sure the success of the vaccination roll-out has given bookers the confidence to plan for the future. What also helps us is that all of our activities are outdoors in the Northamptonshire countryside. There’s been a big drive by the government for us all to get outside and get active, which is potentially helping to drive demand for outdoor team-building events.

    What are the biggest concerns from bookers – and what are you doing to alleviate their fears?
    The main concern raised by bookers is what happens to my booking if there’s another lockdown? To alleviate fears we provide a covid-guarantee; if a bookers event is impacted by another lockdown we’ll reschedule it. If a suitable alternative date cannot be found, a no quibble refund is provided. Of course, we’ve also taken measures to keep customers safe such as investing in an ozone sanitising cabinet that cleans our helmets, touch-less registration and enhanced cleaning regime.
