Work can feel like a never-ending barrage of to-do lists, meetings and menial tasks that are piled on as the day goes by. With PAs being some of the busiest people at the office, it?s important to make wise decisions on how to manage your time. But if it all goes sour and you find yourself losing your cool, follow these helpful hints to regain control.

Keep track of your time The best way to find out how you?re spending your day is to create a log of your time. Try categorising the tasks to determine which ones are essential and which ones are time wasters. Write it down in a journal that your can refer to and provide weekly reports to show your boss to make a case for easing your work load.

Take a break The average person has a 90-minute attention span, meaning we can only focus on a task for that long before we need a break to reset our minds. Take 10 or 15 minutes to wind down ? you may even come up with a fresh idea during your down time.

Use technology to your advantage Contrary to popular belief, technology has allowed us to gain extra time by increasing efficiency through automation. Download helpful apps to keep on top of your projects and search for software that can organise your files and documents.

Whistle while you work Music is proven to relax you and make it easier to focus on the task at hand. If your company allows it, try having a radio on in your office or pop in your headphones. Don?t waste too much time choosing the tunes ? just hit play and get to work.
