PA Life Club: Penelope Alice gets the chance to relax at the Chilworth Hotel in Paddington

Chilworth Hotel - Paddington

The Chilworth is located just a quick five-minute walk from Paddington station in London, making it the perfect spot for those travelling. From the outside the hotel blends into the townhouse row of houses, only given away by the printed sign about the door and the red carpet entrance.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the hotel staff and asked to check my coat. I was then given a warm towel to clean my hands with, a simple idea that made me feel at home almost instantly.

Once my hands were cleaned, I was shown the bar where I was greeted with a glass of prosecco and the company of the many PAs I have met and become friends with since joining the PA Life Club.

We were talking to one another for the best part of half an hour, waiting for everyone to arrive before being offered the chance to venture down to the hotel spa for a very enjoyable shoulder massage. The spa offered lots of treatments for the hotel guests as well as a free drop-in yoga session. While in the spa, I found out that the showers in the Chilworth contain added vitamin C, which has plenty of health benefits a massive bonus for guests.

After the spa, I joined the rest of the group at the bar for another glass of prosecco and some plated canapes these were a good idea, as each individual had the same amount and it meant that the hotel could cater to dietary requirements.

Shortly after we had finished the canapes, we were given a tour of the rooms on site. The rooms catered for every modern corporate guest need. A smart TV, a comfortable bed and quick wi-fi with an added ethernet cable if required. The rooms also featured a desk space, microwave and mini bar or fridge. All rooms come with a shower but there are rooms which include a bath – these are available on request when booking. The stand out feature of the rooms, however, was how quiet they were, although only two minutes from Paddington station, it was silent and perfect for a good nightโ€™s sleep.

After the tour of the facilities, we sat down to the evenings finale, a two-course meal which we had pre-ordered before arrival. The choices for the meals included: salmon, steak or chicken and the desserts were: chocolate gateau, lemon cheesecake or caramelised banana with pistachio ice cream. All were delicious and definitely comes recommended if you ever choose to try the hotel out for an event or function in the future.

I really enjoyed the Chilworth hotel in Paddington, I would recommend it for anyone planning to use the station for travel and for those that want to enter the hotel and turn off from the outside world.
