The Meetings Show Tomorrow’s Talent Winner spotlight: Charli Briggs, Eventure Experiences

The Meetings Show recently announced the winners of its Tomorrow’s Talent competition, an initiative which aims to champion talented newcomers to the industry and provide a platform for nurturing, mentoring and supporting the industry leaders of the future.

Over the coming days, PA Life will throw the spotlight on each of the winners, continuing with Charli Briggs…

With some background in recruitment, Charli Briggs founded staffing specialist Eventure Experiences in her hometown Leeds towards the end of the first lockdown, June 2020. Determined to shake up perceptions, Eventure’s focus is on matching clients with staff who understand their beliefs, values and messaging.

What does it mean to be a Tomorrow’s Talent 2021 winner?

One of the goals I set myself in January 2021 was to win a ‘rising star’, ‘under 30’ or ‘young achiever’ by the end of the year! Tomorrow’s Talent 2021 is going to play a huge part in increasing my visibility and I’m very much looking forward to seeing where the next 12 months takes me and my business.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced this past year, with regards to your career?

I could list a few, from redundancy to learning to set up and run a business. However, the biggest challenge for me has been learning to let go of control. Eventure has grown much quicker than I anticipated which meant bringing in temporary support before it hit the one-year mark. Learning to trust someone to continue building the company’s reputation made me quite apprehensive after having done everything myself. I am very proud to say that I now have one full-time employee and another on a three-month contract, both of whom I trust fully. I understand now that to be able to grow effectively I need a great team and through effective training and management they will support me in growing Eventure and maintaining its values.

What do you love most about working in the meetings and events industry?

The supportive community, without a doubt.

The Meetings Show takes place on September 30th and October 1st at ExCeL London. To find out more and register to attend, click here.
