The Meetings Show Tomorrow’s Talent Winner spotlight: Hannah Robinson, BMA House

The Meetings Show recently announced the winners of its Tomorrow’s Talent competition, an initiative which aims to champion talented newcomers to the industry and provide a platform for nurturing, mentoring and supporting the industry leaders of the future.

Over the coming days, PA Life will throw the spotlight on each of the winners, continuing with Hannah Robinson…

After graduating with a first in Events and Leisure Marketing seven years ago, Hannah Robinson set about getting experience in the industry. Hannah worked with the Law Society, two catering companies and with Clifford Chance before starting at BMA House in 2019 where she’s now senior venue sales and event planner.

What does it mean to be a Tomorrow’s Talent 2021 winner?

I am so excited to be chosen for this great opportunity by such an influential panel of judges. It will be a fantastic platform to grow my presence, improve my knowledge and nurture leadership qualities. With things slowly returning to normal, it seems as though this is the next chapter. I think we all need some positivity and I look forward to meeting some great people along the way.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced this past year, with regards to your career?

COVID-19 decimated the industry. Our team changed, people were furloughed and motivation dropped. Going from delivering fast-paced, exciting events to being isolated at home and cancelling all clients’ events was tough, it’s been hard to push on. I cannot wait to see a return to normal but I know we still have a way to go.

What do you love most about working in the meetings and events industry?

I love the variety that working in the events industry offers. I love that you meet so many people from all walks of life. I love that everyone gets involved no matter what level they are at. One day you can be hosting a champagne reception for a key client and the next you’re loading boxes onto the back of a courier truck in the pouring rain. I love the satisfaction you see when a whole event comes together. Teamwork is hugely important to me and events is an industry all about teamwork.

The Meetings Show takes place on September 30th and October 1st at ExCeL London. To find out more and register to attend, click here.
