Charity calling for PAs to encourage colleagues to ‘be inspired’

Sporting charity Legacy 300 is setting its sights on the corporate world as it encourages workers to get out of the office and train with Team GB Olympians. Having raised over £367,000 since the London 2012 Olympics, the charity is looking to PAs to inspire internally, by running staff and client fundraising events with Olympic stars.

Legacy 300 is hoping to present an alternative to the ordinary corporate event, offering bespoke programmes with signed memorabilia and photos, and even exclusive training sessions for corporations. With the opportunity to raise money for good causes, the charity is also offering a discount for several events this year, valid until the end of March.

Having worked with larger and smaller charities in the past, Legacy 300 auctions have previously auctioned off experience days to raise money for good causes while also giving the opportunity to support athletes in their training. The auctions, according to the team, tend to multiply an initial donation by 200-250%.

“We’re a universal fundraising platform,” said Legacy 300’s David Cotton, who has welcomed the popularity of the charity as they look towards the business world from small beginnings. “When we set out it was designed to give smaller and local charities a chance to have access to these athletes.”

While they continue to support and work with other charities, the corporate world has presented further opportunities for the charity. With discounts of 20-30% off group participation events, Legacy 300 is boasting the opportunity to take part in track cycling and rafting days with GB gold medallists, as well as other rowing and beach volleyball experiences.

Typical pricings include:

  • £125 per person for white water rafting with a GB Gold Medalist
  • £245 per person for a VIP rowing experience with GB Rowers
  • £300 per person for a track cycling experience with Q and A from two time gold medallist Philip Hindes
  • £2,400 for 20+ people to take part in a volleyball session with GB women

Established to support athletes and raise money for various causes, Legacy 300 hosts experience days across the country, including track cycling at the Olympic Velodrome, and rowing in Henley led by British Olympians. To get involved, you can visit their website for more details.
