Four day week given the green light at North West based agency

Gareth-Hoyle-Marketing-Signals-moves-to-four-day-week

North West based search engine marketing agency, Marketing Signals, has announced that it will be introducing a four day working week starting in May.

The agency sees the need to give their staff more freedom behind this pioneering change. The rise in cost of living, which has led to one of the agency’s employees asking for a change in working hours due to soaring childcare fees was one of the tipping points for the agency in their decision to seek a solution that would benefit its employees, and also be good for the agency’s productivity.

All full-time salaried employees will take part and it’s been encouraged for staff to use this time to do something they enjoy.

Employees won’t lose out in pay

The revolutionary move to a shorter working week seeks to prioritise working smarter, not harder, leading to a happier and more productive team. The move will also see no loss in pay or benefits with a keen focus on improving employee’s work/life balance.

Managing Director at Marketing Signals, Gareth Hoyle, said: “My motto has always been don’t live to work and don’t work to live and if COVID-19 has taught us anything it’s that it’s important we look after ourselves first. It’s important that my staff feel valued and understand life outside of work is just as important.”

Marketing Signals became a remote-first company following a transformational period over the last couple of years, which has helped it attract and retain the best talent for clients. The four day week will be an extra hook for the recruitment of future superstars as the business looks ahead to a future of growth.

Hoyle adds: “This new model of work, which focuses on quality not quantity, will revolutionise the future of work and I’m excited we’ll be a part of it. We already measure our teams based on output, not attendance, and will continue to work flexi-time with our daily hours.”

“The move will give my team the freedom and wellbeing to enjoy life. A good work/life balance is the key to a happy and healthy workforce which leads to loyalty, ultimately helping our business grow.”
