INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: Time to celebrate how far we’ve come!

Today is International Women’s Day – a time to celebrate the achievements of women across the world, as well as raising awareness of the ongoing fight for equality.

It’s incredibly encouraging that this event has grown so significantly over the past few years, from being a niche, annual ‘nod’ to women, to something that is now acknowledged and celebrated across the board.

And from a personal point of view, my celebration of the day comes with a bonus – no more home schooling! But this is also a significant point for every single one of us – regardless of whether or not you have parenting responsibilities – as today marks the start of the ‘roadmap’ out of our current restrictions.

The past year has been incredibly tough for everyone – not seeing family and friends; a pivot for most to working from home; missing colleagues; ‘Zoom fatigue’; and, yes, home-schooling and keeping children occupied… whilst also trying to work. It’s certainly been a heck of a ride!

So, to every one of our readers, celebrate your achievements of the past year and let us all look ahead to brighter skies and happier times.
