  • 27% of all leave records for July 8th  directly influenced by the England semi-final being
  • 3,819 holiday records for July 8th

o    37 requests made during the match on July 3rd

o    996 made post-match

Jonathan Richards, CEO at Breathe said: “Following the Euros semi-final last night, there’s no doubt there will be some sore heads this morning. After such a challenging year, it’s great to have sporting events such as the football to look forward to. When it comes to booking time off, our data showed that 27% of all leave records for today were made during or after the Saturday match last weekend – showing the anticipation of a late celebratory night. What’s more, 28% of all leave records for the 11th July were directly related to England’s performance and the belief it IS coming home, having also been made during and after the match.

“Logging out of emails and shutting the door on the home office is hugely beneficial to avoid burnout. Whether that’s a few days leave to recuperate, or a day to nurse the hangover, it’s hugely important and beneficial to people’s mental health to recharge. I strongly believe this is an area where managers should lead by example, demonstrating to the team that it’s ok to book time off and foster a great company culture.”
