Leaked Tory dossier alleges staff misconduct

A leaked political document being described as Parliament’s ‘dirty dossier’ has published several allegations against leading Conservative party members, including inappropriate behaviour with their PA.

The news, broken by the Mail Online, has named a number of Members of Parliament and former Cabinet Ministers, accusing them of acting inappropriately with women and other staff members.

Among those named is Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest in Worcestershire and Under-Secretary of State for International Trade, who has been accused of being ‘inappropriate with women,’ as well as reportedly having ‘asked PA to buy sex toys’. The Mail also revealed that Garnier called his assistant “‘sugar t*ts’ in front of witnesses”.

The news comes following increasing awareness of inappropriate behaviour towards women in the workplace. 20% of women admitted to being sexually harassed at work this month, with 58% experiencing harassment but not reporting or speaking out about it.

Online, thousands of men and women boycotted twitter following the suspension of Charmed actress Rose McGowan. Claiming there is “rot in Hollywood,” McGowan accused influential film producer Harvey Weinstein of abuse, as well as calling out Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos for “funding rapists.” The star was temporarily banned from the site after she breached their terms of service by releasing a private phone number.

“We have been in touch with Ms. McGowan’s team,” Twitter responded through their official support account. “We stand with the brave women and men who use Twitter to share their stories, and will work hard every day to improve our processes to protect those voices.”
