London Summer Event Show witnesses record visitor numbers

The London Summer Event Show saw record visitors attend the show last month, with an increase of corporate events buyers of 25%.

It marked the fourth edition of the show, which took place on January 23 – 24 at Banking Hall, London, and the eighth event in organiser Story Events’ exhibition series.

2018’s show welcomed 905 unique event buyers over the course of the two-days, while corporate event buyers saw the biggest increase in numbers, with 670 in attendance.

“We are delighted to have attracted such an increase in corporate event buyers to this year’s event, which can be attributed to our focus on content at the Show,” said Clare McAndrew, marketing and content manager at Story Events.

“We try and refresh our content each year through a carefully planned seminar programme, our #StoryGivesBack initiative and policies such as only allowing 60% repeat exhibitor bookings year-on-year.”

Companies who attended this year included the likes of ASOS, Aviva, Barclays, BT, Marks & Spencer, Shell, Tesco, Xero and many more.

The event showcased 80 of the industry’s best event venues and suppliers, 40% of which were first-time exhibitors.

First time exhibitor, Angela Wilkins, owner of Drunken Dairy, added: “It was absolutely fantastic, it’s almost certainly the most productive Show we’ve ever done and probably the best organised.”

The next show in the Story Events series is the London Christmas Party Show, which takes place at Plaisterers’ Hall on May 15-16.
