Millennials refuse to sacrifice quality of work

A recent survey of 2800 millennials carried out by talent assessment and analytics firm Jombay reveals that quality of work is the top motivator for the next generation of employees.

More than 80% of respondents said quality is their top motivator when it comes to work โ€“ so no matter how many times they change jobs, they strive to maintain a high level of quality in their work. In fact, 71% said they closely monitor their companyโ€™s standards and would think twice if they were asked to compromise on quality.

When asked which perks they prefer, 77% of millennials said flexibility is key, with 66% saying they would choose this as a primary benefit over better rewards. 60% said they are more likely to stay in a job if theyโ€™re given ownership of their work and the ability to take the lead.

For 88% of respondents, lack of processes and structure is the main factor that would lead them to leave a job, while 74% cited micromanagement as a huge disappointment. Frequent changes in company plans and strategies upsets 66% of millennials and ambiguity on targets, job security and management philosophy would make 60% search for a new role elsewhere.
