Summer events and parties high on the agenda for businesses

With government restrictions due to end on the 21 June, more and more companies are looking to capitalise on the opportunity to get their employees or teams together for the first time in a long time.

After an incredibly challenging 2020 and without the opportunity to reward staff at Christmas, many companies are viewing the summer months as the perfect time to celebrate the achievements of their staff with an in-person event or party.

Marta Fernandez, Senior Sales Executive at 116 Pall Mall, a Grade-I listed venue in the heart of London, said: “We’ve seen a real spike in summer party and event enquiries in the last couple of weeks which is great to see.

“Knowing that PAs and event bookers have confidence in the industry after being restricted for so long is a hugely positive step in the right direction for both planners and venues.”

We know that businesses have been desperate to get employees back together face-to face, whether that’s for corporate meetings or for social events. Companies also want to make up for not being able to reward their employees at Christmas, so there seems to be even more demand than usual.

“At 116 Pall Mall, we have a beautiful secluded outdoor terrace that adjoins our Carlton Room and it’s extremely popular during the summer months for summer parties, drinks receptions, networking events and even birthday/anniversary celebrations.

“Finding this kind of outside space in such a central location is incredibly difficult, and we’re lucky to be able to provide this as part of our events offering for clients. Hiring the Carlton Room along with the terrace provides the ideal option for unpredictable weather whilst also providing extra room for larger guest numbers. We can host up to 50 attendees on the terrace, or up to 150 when hired along with our Carlton Room.’

“We want to stress that we have a flexible COVID policy – meaning that if any new announcements from the government mean that your event can no longer take place, we will do everything we can to try and make your event happen later on, or offer a refund.”

With each milestone of the government roadmap going smoothly so far, along with an incredibly successful vaccine rollout, summer events are looking positive for event bookers and PAs at this stage.
