UK businesses lose £56 billion to poor training

Research by Scottish start-up Create eLearning shows that as much as ?56 billion is being lost in the UK every year to replace staff who leave their jobs due to poor training.

With 40% of staff who receive poor or no training leaving a firm within a year, bringing in a comprehensive learning programme that is accessible to all staff can save money on recruitment and re-training costs, as well as by avoiding downtime while roles lie vacant.

Create eLearning CEO Mark Taggart claims: ?Companies can spend millions on training courses that can be seen as a jolly or weekend away, but information is actually absorbed better in bite-sized chunks.?

Companies that use the Create eLearning software typically save between 35% and 60% on their training costs, according to Taggart.
