20 best companies for work-life balance named

9 signs you have a poor work-life balance

Work-life balance is a key issue for employees, with many saying they’re willing to leave a job in search of a better balance. If you’re looking for a new role that allows you to focus on yourself, Glassdoor has done some research to name the 20 companies that offer the best work-life balance.

London-based financial recruitment firm Goodman Masson tops the list with an overall rating of 4.3, which is based entirely on employee feedback. Staff members who have rated the company on Glassdoor say it has a great company culture and invests heavily in its employees. Sounds ideal.

Big-name companies such as Cisco Systems, Screwfix and American Express follow Goodman Masson, with international consumer goods firm Unilever landing firmly in the middle of the pack with a rating of 4.0.

British brands John Lewis and Waitrose come in at numbers 17 and 18 with a rating of 3.7, only just beat by the likes of Rolls-Royce, Téléfonica and Credit Suisse.

Surprisingly, Apple – that company you either love or hate – brings up the rear of the pack – but it carries the same 3.7 rating as Waitrose, so no real harm there.
