Where would we be without Zoom…?

Since the pandemic began, have you ever stopped and thought how different the lockdowns would have been without video technology?

I’m sure at some point we’ve all moaned and groaned at a frozen video call or a colleague being on mute – and, in fact, a study has found that 22% of video calls freeze and 15% cut out altogether – but while working from home we would have been lost without them.

Video conferencing software has enabled many business operations to continue as usual, with the average adult apparently joining five video calls a week (is that all…?). Brits working from home have had to put up with crashes, delays, embarrassing screenshots and even arguments, leading to them feeling, at best, frustrated.

And, of course, some have fallen foul of the Zoom filter settings… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcnnI6HD6DU.

However, they have also enabled us to continue communications at work and keep in touch with friends and family.

At PA Life we have been utilising video technology to bring you tips on adapting to the new normal, virtual events and interviews. Our most recent video interview was with Alchemy VA Hub Manager Sarah Damani, who shared her highlights from the past year and the biggest challenges she has faced – you can check out the interview here.

Personally, I am thankful for video software even if I have had my fair share of ‘Zoom fatigue’ and I would like to hear the benefits it has offered you. Please feel free to get in touch, and why not share your thoughts on our new offerings in the PA Life 2021 survey.
