Tried and tasted: Indian Accent

Indian Accent

Indian Accent is a modern take on traditional Indian cuisine based in Mayfair, London.  You won’t find a chicken tikka but you will find a refined, sophisticated restaurant that can cater for a business lunch, private dining experience, a larger event such as a Christmas work party. We sent Vincenzo Ferrara and PA/restaurant blogger Paula Gibson to review the restaurant and its delicious food.

The Venue:

You are welcomed into the restaurant by the reception hall, a room that sets the design tone for the venue. Simple and sophisticated, you are aware of the New York inspiration and that you are about to enter an Indian restaurant, not a curry house. Inside, the room that hides the coat check-in so that you can wait for other members of your party whilst being intrigued by different parts of the room.

The main restaurant, located on street level, is compiled of three parts and can fit 43 covers comfortably. The first of which can be described as an entrance dining room, no less exquisite than the rest of the restaurant, it’s located by the bar and has a more open seating experience perfect for a quick lunchtime meal between two clients on the go.

The second and third parts are combined within one room. The room is situated a little further away from the main entrance but offers both open tables in the middle of the room and more private booths around the outside. The open dining is great for parties between three and twelve people, the booths are a lot more private with the ability to comfortably seat four. Although you are aware that you are sat with an open end to the booth facing the dining room, you don’t feel exposed or an invasion of privacy.

The private dining room, located on the basement level is decorated in much the same way as the main dining room. It comes with a private bar, slightly smaller than the main bar but no less well equipped. This more private room can accommodate up to 30, or 18 for a private long table dinner.

The Service:

The staff at Indian Accent are well trained, polite and knowledgeable. They make sure that the establishment has the feel of any fine dining experience in Mayfair. From the speedy and polite service to an in-depth explanation of the food, you’ll find it hard to make any request without someone knowing the answer. The management are also very welcoming and when visiting for a quick bite, you feel that they value every customer and want you to enjoy the experience in the most comfortable way possible.

The chefs are trained to create Indian dishes like no other. As they are experimental with flavours, serving plates that excite all the senses. We even have it on good word, that if you give them enough notice, they enjoy creating more custom dishes if you want to excite those you’ve taken for a meal.
