Location, location, location – why the venue of your next corporate event matters

An Apex event

Where should we hold our next event, we hear you ask? Good question. Choosing the right venue is essential to the success of your events, and getting it wrong could be a disaster. Helping PAs to make the right choice, here are a few things Apex suggests you consider when planning your next corporate event.

Is it appropriate?
Booking the Ritz to announce a downturn in business is clearly off the mark. But it’s more subtle than that. What’s your brand image? What’s the reason for the event? And, how does the look and feel of the venue support these?

Can your attendees get there?
Nothing puts people off an event like a long and difficult journey. Take into account how easy it is for people to get to your venue, and get home again afterwards.

Does it have enough usable space?
Consider projection distances in the main meeting room, and the amount and location of breakout spaces. An event for 200 people on the 12th floor – where the lift only holds five – is really going to mess with your agenda timings.

Does it have the wow factor?
There are plenty venues that aren’t well publicised, which offer something genuinely different. As an example, Apex once organised an unforgettable event on a train running on the track, where the stations were plenary sessions and the carriages were breakout rooms!

Researching the right venue is time-consuming and requires experience and insight. You can, of course, do the legwork yourself, but a top-quality event management agency will be able to help you with this at minimal or no cost.

Apex has extensive experience researching venues – having worked at most of the good ones across the UK at some time over the years. Don’t let your event down with the wrong location. Find out more about how the team can help you, or give them a call today on 01625 429370.
