80% of workers regret sending naughty secret santa presents

Eight in 10 workers have revealed they have overstepped the mark with inappropriate secret santa presents for colleagues who took offence, according to a new study by novelty item VI Poo.

90% thought they’d have a sense of humour if presented with a silly gift, but you might want to tread carefully when handing over mankinis, inflatable walking frames and novelty nude calendars, which were revealed to be among the common gifts. While a third of Brits thought buying a funny present was the key to a faultless Secret Santa gift, 53% said it was important to buy something thoughtful instead.

“Secret Santa is meant to be a bit of fun and should be treated as such,” said a spokesperson for VIPoo, the novelty toilet spray. “The research highlights that funny or novelty gits are a sure-fire way to have a successful Secret Santa.”

One in five Brits said they always opt for a present that refers to a private joke between themselves and another workmate, according to the novelty product, which is hoping to use the festive season to tackle the embarrassment of using the toilet at work.

“After a long year, it’s a great way to bond with co-workers, whether you are firm friends with them already and are buying them a gift that references a long running joke, or they are a more distant colleague.”
