England football success scores big commercial win for AOK Group

Demand for business entertaining has been buoyed by England’s success in the UEFA European Football Championship, according to The AOK Events Group.

The leading London agency has seen a 35% increase in web demand and in-person calls for upcoming sporting fixtures off the back of the England football team’s quarter final and semi-final victories.

Corporate hospitality has been back on the business agenda in recent weeks with AOK Events hosting more than 500 guests at The Championships Wimbledon. And to meet demand from organisations who have readdressed their client engagement strategy towards a digital focus, AOK Events has created a range of virtual hospitality experiences headlined by sport professionals.
With the traditional ‘Summer Season’ under way and the re-start of live sporting events with larger capacities; corporates are looking to re-engage with their clients and stakeholders or reward and thank their teams after a 12-month sporting abyss. Consequently, hospitality events are seeing renewed demand from AOK’s clients with the Silverstone Grand Prix, England v India at Lord’s, the Chelsea Flower Show and the Autumn Internationals 2021 to be played at Twickenham Stadium all sought after.

AOK Group CEO Alex Hewitt (pictured) said: “Last night was an enormous morale boost to the nation and has heightened the sense that getting together is good. We’ve seen this play out through the flood of enquiries for upcoming fixtures where the nation’s teams feature. From an event organisers’ perspective, it is hugely encouraging to see such willingness from corporates to bring their people back together. There’s demonstrable confidence in the protocols and procedures all the venues are undertaking to stage events and undoubtedly we will see a return to more face-to-face activities over the next 6-months. However, we are equally mindful of the need for standout virtual experiences too and continue to innovate and meet demand in this area.”
