UK schools to enter the events industry

Britain’s top schools are set to be showcased as potential business destinations through venue search engine Beautiful Schools. Opening up schools as venues for meetings, conferences and events, the free app is hoping to become the one-stop shop for businesses looking for unique meeting locations.

Believing there is untapped potential in British schools, the school venue service believes that many across the country can’t afford to ignore the commercial value of their assets, as budget cuts affect everything equipment to staff struggles. With many schools offering pupils a range of facilities, opening the doors to the business world offers a number of possibilities.

The team behind the service has been working in the schools’ sector for over 4 years and will use their unrivalled contacts and knowledge of those schools to offer venue bookers the best insider advice.

“we’re extremely excited to be launching our new online search and matching service,” said Dorothy McLaren, co-founder of Beautiful Schools. “Whether you want to book a private dinner where Game of Thrones was filmed or hold the annual company away-day where your colleagues can swim, shoot, dine, drink and sleep all in one location – we’ll find it in Beautiful Schools.”

As schools begin to sign up, the service is expecting many more to follow suit, with the plan to bring in over 60 schools before the end of the year. Utilising the opportunity to use schools as multi-purpose venues, Beautiful Schools is prioritising areas where other such event spaces are currently limited.

“Beautiful Schools have a profound understanding of the independent school sector and we couldn’t think of a better company to represent our industry,” said Guy Collins-Down, director of finance and operations at South Hampstead High School. “The Beautiful Schools team have a vast knowledge bank of the most prestigious school locations the country has to offer.”
